If your flying in or out of Bellingham, your in luck.

According to a new report released by the United States Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the average price of a plane ticket at Bellingham International Airport decreased more in the last 14 years than fares at any other airport in the country,

Compare the second quarter of 2000 when the average ticket cost $478, adjusted for inflation .of course, with the second quarter  2014, when the average price dropped an incredible 59.7% to $192.
Bellingham is ranked in the top five for lowest overall average domestic fare in 2014.
Traffic at Bellingham International Airport this summer was about 10 percent less than summer 2013. In September, Port of Bellingham aviation director Daniel Zenk said that the decrease is due to industry consolidation. “We expected that there would be a plateau and a slight decrease,” Zenk said last month. “Now we anticipate that things will start to turn around.”
