I have grown up in the design and construction industry my entire life. As a child, I would tag around with my Dad - an award winning commercial architect in Alaska. I was exposed to the building industry at a very young age. My experiences led me to art school in Seattle, where I pursued my degree in Industrial Design. Upon graduation, I packed my car for the drive up the Alaska-Canada (Al-Can) Highway. En route, my VW van broke a clutch cable and I was temporarily stuck in the sleepy little town of Bellingham. I eventually made it home to Alaska, but Bellingham had touched my soul.
My professional career began space planning and designing for Herman Miller in Anchorage, Alaska. I was able to travel through most of remote Alaska designing office plans for government agencies & Native hospitals. I experienced the most frigid temperatures of my life in the coastal town of Kotzebue, Ak where it was -70 degrees! (And no, you can't 'see' Russia from Alaska...)
An opportunity arose in Seattle, I once again made the trek down the Al-Can, briefly stopping to investigate Bellingham. Work soon began with Business Interiors NW, again designing, planning and facilitating Herman Miller systems furniture for large government agencies.
Three years later, Bellingham re-surfaced and I made the move north. I have never left. I have been building a life in Bellingham for 19 years.
Seventeen years ago, I became a licensed Real Estate Broker. I have constructed, remodeled and designed several homes in the area; my passion for the design & building industry has never ebbed.
Currently, I am enjoying a new path in International Real Estate developing cross-border and global relationships. I have earned the advanced Certified International Property Specialist designation (CIPS); I am one of three (total) active CIPS designees in Whatcom County.
My area of expertise remains in marketing and selling residential homes. I thoroughly enjoy navigating the entire process, whether representing first time home buyers or luxury home sellers. Navigating the nuts and bolts of real estate is my full time passion that happens to be my profession!
